永住権

剣が峰をはるばる越ゆる思いかな今日ついに成る永住権更新
at long last
today, my green card
has been renewed
like crossing a steep summit
it was very long indeed

新カードの十年有効確(ｼｶ)と見つ君と住む地は異国にあらじ
my new card
good for ten years I see
being with you my dear
America is no longer
a foreign land for me

アメリカを我が永住の地となさん共に見詰むる大統領選挙
closely watching
the Presidential election
with my husband,
America is surely
my permanent home to be

“チェインジ”の波ひたひたと太平洋ニッポン晴れにて今年はじまる
waves of “Change”
lapping the shores of
the Pacific Ocean
a New Year begins with
the weather at its best

ふりかえる昨日の虹は島いっぱい明日へとつづく空の大橋
yesterday’s rainbow
fully outstretched like a bridge
across the sky
leading its way to
a hopeful tomorrow

I only to understood
that for my eye surgery
it will only take a day

青い目は白内障にならないと八十六歳の夫は胸張る
my hubby,
86 years young,
throws out his chest
and says
“blue eyes’ never get cataracts “ ? ? ?

「オペ済めば黒い目の美女に甦る」　信じよう　あなたの白い冗談
“after surgery
sure, you will back as
a beautiful lady
with pretty black eyes”
yes; I’ll accept your white joke!

水晶体のけむりの奥に宇宙あり　虹の湖　銀の雲海（手術中）
seeing cosmos
deep in the fog
of crystal--
oh, rainbow lake!
oh, silver sea of clouds! (during surgery)
